Maison & Jardin French Cuisine
If you are looking for that exceptional, special place to have a romantic dinner for two, or that celebration dinner for the family, this is THE place.
in Altamonte Springs, Florida, Maison & Jardin has won many awards
for it's superb cuisine and service, and its ambient, relaxed atmosphere.
Originally opened in 1958, the restaurant owner has developed this fabulous restaurant to suit the every taste. The exterior is fashioned on a French Mansion, nestled in 5 acres of landscaped grounds. With a delightful interior ambience, including oriental rugs, Austrian crystal, and antique mirrors in an opulent and tasteful surrounding, you'll think you've time-traveled back to the 1800's in one of the rooms, while other dining-rooms include the Gazebo room which provides a distinctly Mediterranean feel and the Patio Rooms with its brick flooring and canvas awning roof.
But you want to know about the food!
The Chef, Hans Spirig, who learned his art in the top hotels and restaurants in Switzerland, has prepared a cornucopia of wonderful European-style dishes in the classical fashion - with a little twist of the USA thrown in to add zest. There are far too many dishes to go into on this brief review, but VillaDirect's 'food taster' especially liked the Supreme of Pheasant Minnesota - a fabulous dish with rice-stuffed pheasant breast. There were lots of other tempting dishes on the menu - and we can't wait to go back for another meal soon. One of the nice touches noticed were the popular 5 or 6 course 'taster' menus with matching wine pairings. Oh!, and what an extensive wine list - probably one of the best in Florida.
