This
Cuban-American restaurant is in the heart of Disney's West
Side. Gloria Estefan and husband Emilio created this cafe
as the Disney version of old Havana.
The noise, including a Desi Arnaz look-alike who sometimes
plays, and tables nearly on top of one another, can make
for a very loud dinner.
The
meals are worth the wait though!
Our
top recommendation was the Filete de pescado a la Catalana
- a lightly breaded filet of Fish with a homemade creole
sauce and served with white rice and maduros for only $16.95
The
thick black bean soup kissed with onion is the appetizer
of choice here.
For
a main course, many authentic Cuban favorites are here
to choose from, but the thin Cuban steak with grilled onions
and saffron rice cooked in a paella pan with a variety
of seafood and fresh vegetables outshines the rest. Coffee-lovers
should sample the thick, dark Cuban coffee.
